Dry skin
What causes dry skin?

There are many causes of dry skin, but the most common are:
AGING: As you age, your skin produces less of the natural oil that helps retain its moisture.
CLIMATE: Wind, cold temperatures, and low humidity.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL: Indoor heating or air conditioning, which can dry out the air in your home. During the winter season, use a humidifier. Set it to around 60% to help replenish the top layer of the skin.
Using a daily moisturizer, which rehydrates the top layer of the skin and seals in the moisture, is the first step in combating dry skin.
Dry skin relief
When you have flaky, itchy, dry skin, you want fast relief. Relieving your dry skin isn't just about what you put on it.
Healthy, hydrated skin can be achieved if you spend a little time perfecting your daily skin care routine. Using the right combination cream or lotion, you can work to lock in moisture and protect your skin.
Complications
Dry skin is usually not a serious health problem, but it can produce serious complications, such as eczema or bacterial infection. Rarely, dry skin can be associated with an allergy. Extremely dry skin can be a warning sign of a skin problem called dermatitis.
